Art in Space

panel discussion

Owing to the neoliberal cultural policy and the questions posed by the criticism of institutionalism, there has been a renewed debate in recent years about the possible structure of contemporary art institutions and their intellectual and actual scope of action. The theme of the talks involving international experts, and of the following publication, is how constructed space affects exhibited content, how it makes contemporary art and the related discourse accessible, and also what new institutional models are conceivable.

In the framework of the project, issues of the organizational and architectural reorganization of the Institute of Contemporary Art - Dunaújváros are discussed in the context of different international experiences and current institutional trends.

The conference and the related publication are the result of the initiative of ACAX - Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange and the Institute of Contemporary Art - Dunaújváros, in collaboration with Art Forum Berlin.
