Talia Linz

Originally from Sydney, Talia is an independent writer and curator with an MA in Curatorial Studies from the University of Toronto. She is the former Executive Producer of Arts and Culture at Sydney's FBi Radio 94.5FM and former Assistant Editor of the quarterly magazine Art & Australia. She has been a research and teaching assistant in the Visual Studies Department at the University of Toronto and completed internships with the National Gallery of Canada at the Canadian Pavilion, 54th Venice Biennale, and with the curatorial team at Artspace, Sydney. Talia has also been a researcher, contributor and editor of various arts publications including Art & Australia, Limelight, Runway, The Modern Woman’s Anthology and Current: Contemporary Art from Australia and New Zealand. She holds a BA in Performance Theory and Practice from the University of Western Sydney and a MA in Writing from the University of Technology, Sydney.

As the 2013-14 Nick Waterlow OAM Curatorial Fellow Talia Linz has the unique opportunity to be mentored by the Artistic Director of the 19th Biennale of Sydney, Juliana Engberg.

Established by the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with the Biennale of Sydney, the Fellowship celebrates the memory of Nick Waterlow OAM (1941–2009) and the extraordinary contribution he made to the Biennale of Sydney, and to Australian and international contemporary visual arts.
