Christiane Mennicke-Schwarz


Christiane Mennicke-Schwarz is art historian and curator. She is the curatorial director of Kunsthaus Dresden, Municipal Gallery of Contemporary Art in Dresden. She curated numerous exhibitions and programs of contemporary art and interventions in the urban environment, among others: Wild capital (2005-2007); On the absence of the camp (2006); Lisl Ponger: Lasst tausend Blumen blühen (2008).Current projects establish contemporary art as a medium of cultural discourse. Walden #3 or the school of life, an exhibition on art, education and its history will be presented at the Rathausgalerie Munich together with two accompanying conferences on the topic. Notes from the Empire is a current program of exhibitions and events at the Kunsthaus Dresden.Christiane Mennicke-Schwarz is member of several jurys and was expert to a number of committees, among others Büro Kopernikus.
