Marina Sorbello


 

Marina Sorbello (b. in Catania, Italy) is a curator, journalist and art-critic based in Berlin, Germany. She writes for publications such as The Art Newspaper, London, Il Giornale dell'Arte, Torino, and the monthly magazine Specchio a.o..

Among her current and recent projects: “Cairoscape. Images, Imaginary and Imagination of a contemporary Mega City” (exhibition, interdisciplinary project, 2008, Kunstraum Kreuzberg Bethanien and other places, Berlin, www.cairoscape.org); “Rassegna del Contemporaneo” (interdisciplinary project, 2008, Acireale, Catania, www.rassegnadelcontemporaneo.it); “Readysteadygo!” (exhibition, 2007, Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee, Umspannwerk Humboldt Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin); "This Land is My Land" (exhibition, 2006, Kunsthalle Nurnberg and NGBK - Neue Gesellschaft fuer Bildende Kunst, Berlin, www.ngbk.de); “KLARTEXT! Together with Dorothee Bienert, Dortje Drechsel and Antje Weitzel she runs Uqbar, a not for profit project space operating in and from Berlin, with a regular exhibition program in its premises in Berlin-Wedding.
