The 13th Istanbul Biennial – Mom, Am I Barbarian?

ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange is glad to announce that – as in previous years – the 13th Istanbul Biennial again has Hungarian participant. Among others the works of Adam Kokesch are on display between the 14th of September – 20th of October 2013 at the central venue of the Biennial.

The 2013 Leopold Bloom Art Award Winner announced

The Award Ceremony of the second Leopold Bloom Art Award took place in Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art, on Friday evening, the 6th of September 2013. Prior to the event the Jury of The Leopold Bloom Art Award – Katia Baudin (art historian, Deputy Director and Senior Curator of the Museum Ludwig Cologne), Annie Fletcher (Curator of Exhibitions at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, and tutor at De Appel, Amsterdam), Tihomir Milovac (art historian, Head of the Experimental and Research Department at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb) – visited each shortlisted artist’s studio, in order to get a wider picture of the finalists’ work.

According to their decision, the 2013 Leopold Bloom Art Award went to Csaba Nemes.

The Jury of The Leopold Bloom Art AwardKatia Baudin (art historian, Deputy Director and Senior Curator of the Museum Ludwig Cologne), Annie Fletcher (Curator of Exhibitions at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, and tutor at De Appel, Amsterdam), Tihomir Milovac (art historian, Head of the Experimental and Research Department at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb) – have selected nine artists for the finalists’ exhibition.

Residency Unlimited (RU), New York - 2013

ACAX – Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange in cooperation with Residency Unlimited (RU) announced an Open Call for Hungary based contemporary visual artists working in all disciplines to take part in a 3 months residency program (September – November 2013) at Residency Unlimited in New York.

Out of the 44 artists applying, the selection panel organized by Residency Unlimited awarded this year's residency to Erika Baglyas.

The grant covers the travel, stipend, living costs and full benefits of Residency Unlimited (RU)'s program.
The program is organised and financed by ACAX | Ludwig Museum with the support of TMU (Trust for Mutual Understanding).
