Residency Unlimited (RU), New York - 2013

ACAX – Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange in cooperation with Residency Unlimited (RU) announced an Open Call for Hungary based contemporary visual artists working in all disciplines to take part in a 3 months residency program (September – November 2013) at Residency Unlimited in New York.

Out of the 44 artists applying, the selection panel organized by Residency Unlimited awarded this year's residency to Erika Baglyas.

The grant covers the travel, accommodation and living costs and the studio use.

The program is organised and financed by ACAX | Ludwig Museum with the support of TMU (Trust for Mutual Understanding).

Gasworks Studios, London - 2011

ACAX – Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange in cooperation with Gasworks announced an Open Call for Hungary based contemporary visual artists working in all disciplines to take part in a 3 months residency program (October – December 2011) at Gasworks in London.

From the 30 artists applying for the residency the selection panel at Gasworks awarded this years residency to Lilla Khoór.

The grant covers the travel, accommodation and living costs and the studio use.

The Hungarian artist will present his works at a portfolio presentation and the Open Studio Weekend organized by Gasworks.

ISCP, New York - 2010

Within the framework of ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange and International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) collaboration one Hungarian curator is invited to spend a 2 months' residency at ISCP in New York between 1st of December and 31st of January 2011.

ISCP, New York

With the support of TMU (Trust for Mutual Understanding) ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange grants two Hungarian visual artists for altogether a 5 months' residency at ISCP in New York in second half of 2010.

Within the framework of ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange and International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) collaboration two Hungarian artist are invited to spend a 2 and a 3 months' residency  at ISCP in New York between 1 September 2010 and 31 January 2011.

Recipients of the ISCP residency grant are: Szabolcs KissPál and Antal Lakner

Szabolcs KissPál will spend 3 months at ISCP  between 1 September 2010 and 30 November 2010.
Due to personal reasons Antal Lakner can not participate in the residency program. We will soon announce a new call for the period 1 December 2010 - 31 January 2011.

The grant covers the travel and accommodation costs and the studio use.

ISCP, New York

Within the framework of ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange and ISCP collaboration one Hungarian artist will spend a 3 months' residency at ISCP in New York between 1st of September and 30st of November  2010.

Gasworks Studios, London

In the framework of ACAX and Gasworks collaboration starting in the autumn of 2010 one Hungarian artist will spend 3 months residency in the Gasworks.

12 artists applied for the residency. In the preselection process Alessio Antoniolli (director, Gasworks) and Catalina Lozano (residencies coordinator) have choosen Csaba Nemes's, Tímea Oravecz's, Andrea Schneemeier's and Péter Szabó's application.

The final decision was made by Alessio Antoniolli and Catalina Lozano. Recipient of the Gasworks residency is: Csaba Nemes.

Result of the curatorial residency program for a Spain-based curator in Budapest

Ludwig Museum-Museum of Contemporary Art and ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange, in collaboration with SEACEX (Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior) announced an open call for application for a one month curatorial residency program for a Spain-based curator.

From the 16 applications SEACEX preselected the following candidates: Javier Duero, Iván López Munuera, Inma Prieto and Manuel Segade.

In a second round, upon the decision of ACAX | Ludwig Museum, Iván López Munuera was selected, who will participate in the curatorial residency program at ACAX | Ludwig Museum in Budapest during March 2010.

As hosting institutions,
ACAX | Ludwig Museum will cover the travel, accommodation and living costs of the curator and will assist him in his curatorial research.

The program is organised and financed by ACAX | Ludwig Museum.

ISCP, New York

Within the framework of ACAX | Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange and ISCP collaboration one artist will spend a 3 months' residency at ISCP in New York between 1st of February 2010 and 30th of April 2010.

36 artists applied for the residency program. The jury - Zsolt Petrányi, director of Műcsarnok; Hajnalka Somogyi, curator of Ludwig Museum Budapest and Tijana Stepanovic, ACAX program leader  - chose the recipient in a two round selection process.

The jury preselected the following applicants: Gabriella Csoszó, Szabolcs KissPál, Tamás Komoróczky and Gergely László.

Recipient of the ISCP residency is: Gergely László
Gergely László will spend the 3 months' residency at ISCP in New York  between 1st of February 2010 and 30th of April 2010. ACAX will cover the travel and accommodation costs and will grant the artist the studio use.

The program is organised and financed by
ACAX | Ludwig Museum with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in Budapest.
